moon
I don't know anything about home entertainment stuff. What's a good DVD player ? Is this one any good ? If I get a DVD burner for the PC can I play the discs on something like this ?http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/in...oduct_uid=60188
-pops-
Scan stocks Ellion products - often with the Scan re-badge. Check out Scan prices and also their daily specials (do this over a few days, you will often find what you want with a good reduction on it). I bought a Scan DVD player about three years ago and am very pleased with it. I've recommended to others as well.My machine is region free and has played all the discs I've put in it.http://www.scan.co.uk/
moon
Ta pops. I see they have the same model at Scan at about £1.50 cheaper. Can you see anything missing from the specs. of this model that you think should be available ? It appears to me to play lots of formats and it's multi-regional. moon
Right, that's the one I've bought then. I expect I'll see Rosi again in a few weeks, once she's been through her friends DVD collections.
-pops-
I missed a slot to reply to your second post. I've checked on the bottom of my Scan DVD player and it is, indeed, an Ellion model rebadged with the Scan name.As I said, it has not let me down in playing any disc I've put in it. I've got it connected to a Sony 6.1 surround sound system* and the effect is extremely good - I would have put awesome but, I'm an old man and don't use words like that. The first film I put through the system was Matrix so, if you want to experience something "awesome" try that or Bladerunner. I'm sure there are many more films that have as good or better special effects but these are just wo I know about.*which you do need to get the best from it.
