Different language at Windows xp startup (logon)

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I'm having trouble with language setting on logon page in Windows xp pro. I'm using a multilingual pack and i set on all user accounts and during install default language (slovenian). The problem is that when i reboot or start up the computer specified language isn't there (specifically password box, which is set to english) but when i log off and log on again the specified language(slovenian) is as it should be. Does anybody know a workaround that? Thanks for any help.

Luke

I believe the language used for startup from a cold boot is fixed so, If your XP is an English version then English is the only language available until Windows has loaded fully. This explains why, on logging off and on again, the Slovenian language is retained i.e. Windows has not had to re-load.

I had a similar experience when I worked in France some years ago (W95 days) the version was in French and nothing I could do would persuade it to start up in English. It was OK once everything had loaded up and the language altered to what I wanted.
