Hello just joined. I have Packard Bell I Media 5094. Whilst not an expert, I have experienced many problems so far. Could anyone answer the question. The unit came with I am told with an 80gb Hard Drive but, the size listed is 72.5 gb. has anyone have an explanation surely XP Home cannot be that size?. Thank you in advance.

Often the manufacturers quote 1gb =1000mb whereas 1gb is actually 1024mb. So 72.5gb listed in windows isn't too far away.

what sort of problems are you experiencing ?

what does windows show as used ?

and of course welcome to windows forum :)

Thank you Mark, trying to compose a letter to Packard Bell complaining of all the things that have gone wrong plus are still not right. I will not bore you.

Perhaps just one: the CDRW seems to have two sets of software, ROxio and Veritas. One is much faster than the other but, I wish I knew which, and are two needed?

Maybe we can solve the problems here if they are only software related.

Unfortunately I cannot help with the choice of CDRW software to use, I have used Roxio's Easy Cd creator and found it oK.

Never used veritas so cannot offer an opinion, but currently I am using Nero for my burning.
