boyajian
When installing Canon camera software Solution Disk with autorun and DemoShield (InstallShield) the CDROM icon changes to an unknown (unexpected) icon. It is not the icon specified in the autorun.inf script. When processing the install script an unexpected (per Canon software support) prompt appears. Canon says I have a system problem but they can't/won't identify it. The install works OK on another computer. My system: Pentium 3, 256MB RAM, 2 CD-ROM drives (NEC DV-5800A, Sony CD-RW CRX140E), Windows 98 SE.Any suggestions?Ron Boyajian :(

Scarecrow Man
Have you tried both CD drives?
boyajian
I have tried both CDROM drives with identical results. One is a CD/DVD reader and the other is a CD-RW drive.
boyajian
Referring to my original post (see below), I may have been a little misleading. The unknown icon I refer to also occurs when the system is started with the installation CD inserted in the drive (i.e. the "startup.exe" on the CD is not executed). Is there a simple way to search all possible candidates for icons (other than doing a "Find" on .ico files) so that I might be able to determine where the unknown icon is coming from?TIA,Ron BoyajianWhen installing Canon camera software Solution Disk with autorun and DemoShield (InstallShield) the CDROM icon changes to an unknown (unexpected) icon.
