andy29
Hi, my motherboard has a SiS 7001 USB chipset on it, and my BT Broadband USB modem keeps losing sync. Also, my Logitech steering wheel is often laggy. I have looked on the internet and found that the chipset is known to have a problem (power management?).So I went and bought a PCI USB card from eBay for £15, and this has the same problem too - but has a Via chipset. I have now been told that ALi chipsets can also have this problem. So my question is - what cards/chipsets actually work? Apparently Lucent chipsets are good. andy29
Okay, I now have a new F5U219 which I bought through eBay. And it doesn't work :(Is there anything else that could cause this? Could it be the motherboard playing up?
-pops-
As a small scale computer builder, I've installed dozens of USB/USB2 PCI cards from all sorts of sources on various machines and never had a problem with them not working.I can't say what chipset or any other hardware they had on them because there was never an issue that would have caused me to look. What I am trying to say is that there must be something fundamentally amiss with your set up to cause this problem.
