Problem opening My Pictures file

I'm running Windows Me and suddenly have a problem opening 'my pictures' file. A popup message declares 'Your current security settings prohibit ActiveX Controls on this page. As a result the page may not display correctly' and of course it doesn't. I'm not on line when this happens, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the internet. I've enabled all activex on security settings and have disabled my Firewall, virus checker and popup stopper; none of that worked. Any help would be appreciated.

As an initial thing, try updating Activex

To update ActiveX add-ons

Open Internet Explorer.

On the Tools menu, click Manage Add-ons.

In the Show box, click the arrow and select Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer.

In the list of add-ons, click the add-on you want to update, and then click Update ActiveX.

Pops, thanks. I should have waited for your reply. After reinstalling windows, Mypictrues works fine, but now I'll have to reinstall all the updates. Your solution would probably been much simpler. Thanks for responding. Next time I'll wait. :)
