rhymer75 Posted October 14, 2004 Report Share Posted October 14, 2004 My Celeron 850 running Win XP Pro boots up normally until halfway through the boot process the desktop reverts to gray and about 90% of the icons also go to black and white....Strangely, the My Computer icon, Paint Shop Pro icon, Eudora6.3, Incredimail and a small number of others retain their colors!...What's happening?? Scarecrow Man Posted October 14, 2004 Report Share Posted October 14, 2004 That's a new one....Change your colours settings in display properties to 32bit, and also 24 bit (and if you have it 16bit as well as 256) and see if there is any change. Tried that but no joy!...If I drop the Knoppix disk into the machine, it boots up in living color in Linux, so the problem mudt be in the gatesware somewhere!...Many thanks for the suggestion anyway!Rhymer Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
