-pops-
Is the disk formatted?Try: RIGHT click on My Computer and click on Manage. Click on Disk Management. You will see a list of drives. Is your new drive there? If it says Unallocated it means that it requires to be formatted. To format, RIGHT click on the drive, click format and follow the instructions. -pops-
Are you saying that you have two drives with two Windows systems on them and that the second drive already had the O/S on it when it was installed? If so, then you haven't followed the correct procedure to install two operating systems and thus your prime O/S (on the C drive) is confused and will not be able to see it.Assuming you don't need the extra O/S installed, I suggest you go into disk management and reformat the drive. djohn
Hi Lenny795. You don't need to use your XP disk with the new drive. You already have XP installed on your main drive so do as -pops- advises in his post above and all will be fine. You will not see your new slave drive in "My Computer" until it has been allocated/formatted but by following -pops- advice you will be able to see it and use it. From Disk management you can also change the drive letters to best suite you layout. :)
