-pops- Posted October 18, 2004 Report Share Posted October 18, 2004 Open Office has had some bug fixes and is issued in a new version 1.1.3.If you don't know what Open Office is, look here You will see it's an office suite similar to, and compatible with, Microsoft Office. Best of all - it's FREE!!The only problem is if you're on dial up - it's a 46.1MB download.If anyone is worried about the pedigree of Open Office, it is an open source office suite commercialised in Star Office (has a few extras) and has been developed by Sun Microsystems - the creators of Sun Java which has caused uncle Bill (Gates) so much heartache in the past few years. It really is very good and I've just been told that Bristol City Council is moving over to Star Office in preference to the MS product.
