Scarecrow Man
It is things like this that make me want to bang my head on my desk until I forget I've heard of it. Video game makers soon will be installing adware into video games. The adware will display advertising inside the game and track how often the player sees them. Advertisers will be able to identify the city in which a gamer is located and serve ads specific to that city. This is just ridiculous. Must we now be forced to firewall our video games? It's not that advertisements would be out of place in a video game that bothers me. Many games already have virtual billboards pitching fictitious products. I see no problem with replacing those with real advertisements. The problem is that now you can't even play a video game without some advertiser taking note and marking it down in a database. Will the games be free now that the developers have another way to pay for them? Don't count on it. You'll be paying for the privilege of having advertising companies track your game playing habits.Sometimes I believe advertising companies won't be happy until they've found a way to implant adware directly onto our optic nerves. Then they can watch everything we do and beam tailor-made commercials directly into our brains. Remind me of this piece in ten or twenty years. I bet at least one company tries to do just that.Source

andsome
How did your bowling match go andsome ?I lost 15-6, which was better than I expected against this particular bowler. I am just about average on the indoor rink, or playing lawn bowls. I am a whole lot better at Crown Green, and will normally give a good account of myself against most people. Roll on next summer
