LAN Internet Sharing doesn't work under SP2

Hello all, i have a small yet important problem: my brother recently installed SP2 on his computer; the moment he did that, my internet went dead. (i used to be able to connect to internet trough the LAN of course)

My computer still has SP1 btw, I'm running Windows XP Pro, my brother Windows XP Home.

Does anyone what can be done about this ?? I guess it has something to do with the firewall.

My brother is searching to fix this as well -by asking around- but i thought some expert's help couldn't do any harm.

I have three XP SP2 machines connected by wireless LAN. I do not use the Windows firewall. I turned it off as soon as I installed SP2 and kept to my normal Sygate.

Has your brother tried turning off the Windows firewall?

Are you going to install SP2? It may be better if you do this now before working on your current setup.

Yeah, he has tried to turn it off, i guess i could try the second option, although i'm not very eager to install sp2, with all the bugs and such.

This would be the correct file, i assume ?

I have installed SP2 on about 30 machines now without any problems at all. The problems experienced by others are, more often than not , caused by problems with their XP setup different to the O/S itself e.g. spyware/virus etc present but undetected.

The link you gave is not the one for general installation of SP2. It should be automatically installed on your machine if you are connected to the Internet and have Windows Update in operation.
