aiess
Hello,I have a problem with my system. I have recently formatted my whole system and reinstalled all software/drivers, because I had problems with my mouse cursor. Later I have found out that it could be fixed without formatting the system (going to advanced display settings and reducing hardware acceleration in 'troubleshoot' section). However now I have another problem. My CPU usage jumps from 4-5% to 100% ever 2-3 seconds, causing my system to 'freeze' for a second. This is very annoying. I have tried running a Selective Startup with "Load Startup items" unchecked, however the problem was still there. I have also reinstalled m/s driver. But I just cant solve this problem. Can anyone please help me?Thank you very much,Regards,Artur.
nellie2
could you tell us what your operating system is? And is it fully updated with regards to critical updates and are you running any anti-virus software?
aiess
It is Windows XP Corporate Edition; No critical updates installed;Latest AVG Free Version is running as an anti-virus software. The same version of windows is installed on another computer, no problems were encountered on that one however, without any updates. nellie2
It sounds like trojan activity to me... are you going to get those critical update? You can try the 30 trial of Trojan Hunter, if that doesn't pick up anything then you need to check what processes are running when your cpu usage peaks
