Guest BugMeNot
Some months ago I was using my flashdisk (M-systems / 128mb) and I shutdown the system. After turnung it back on, I was surprised to find out that my system doesn't "recognize" my flashdisk, although it it connected. Tried to reconnect the disk - the little led turns on, but still, the system won't find it. Tried to reboot - still nothing. About a month and a half afterwards, Micro$oft released a patch that it told to fix a sertain bug that causes some sort of damage to usb-flashdisks when the system shuts down, with the drive still attached. Good timing, eh??Anyway, I've quickly installed the patch and the system "saa" my flashdisk, but I can't access it because "The drive is not formatted". Tried to format it under WinXP (quick & full format), but then it tells me it's not possible. Now, can I format the flashdisk somehow so it'll work? -pops-
Even though a patch may now be available, I would think that the drive is permanently damaged by being left in the computer at shutdown prior to the patch being developed. This being the case, then it's goodbye to the drive, I fear.
