doug Posted December 2, 2004 Report Share Posted December 2, 2004 I've dedicated a separate tab (firefox) to the Chat Room so I can flick from my normal tab, here, to the chat room to see if there's anyone there. Not met anyone at all recently. However, at least I can now flick back and forth. Now here's the funny bit. When I receive a personal message the flag saying this (at the top of the screen) only shows up on the chat room when I click on that tab. nellie2 Posted December 2, 2004 Report Share Posted December 2, 2004 ummmmmm!Are you on about the pink box that appears at the top of the screen when you get a pm?If yes then I think it only appears when you first refresh, or move to another page. So whether I was in the chat room or just on the board, the box would show on the first refresh, but if I was in the middle of something and didn't click to read the pm straight away and then went to another page then the box would go and I would just have a little number telling me I had 1 New Message or how ever many I had.ps.. will be in the chat room with you in about 3 quarters of an hour if you can hang on. :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Eveving meal then I srat the ice packs and warm gel packs for Anne - 15 min cycles for each x 3. So I'll only be looking in for ~10 mins max at a time until ~ 10 pm. doug Posted December 3, 2004 Author Report Share Posted December 3, 2004 Nope that issue with the personal message flag is definitely only showing the pinky box in the tab I use for the chat room. For example, when i just logged on my mailwasher said I had a personal message from you Nel. I then booted up firefox and clicked on my Forums link and came in here - no pinky box so I went to my controls and looked at your message and found that I had been hatted. Went back to the main screen and then switched over to the chat room link and Lo and Behold (in season and merry xmas to one and all) the pinky box was showing.Now I think I may have a technical explanation. When I click on my Forums multitab link I note that the one for the chat room finishes loading before the one for here the main page. So it might be using that one as the highest priority.
