Recommended Posts

Just using Kirsty's computer and noticed the security center annoying me.

Upon visiting it, it shows that the XP Firewall is off, so i tried turning it on, but i cant!

I get the following error:

Any suggestions as to how to get it back up and running.

At the moment she is sat behind a netgear router with NAT protection, but i dont wont to take any chances.

Craig.

Go into Control Panel, then Administrative Tools, Then Services, scroll down and you will see "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing".

Double click it, click "Start", and set the startup type to "Automatic" and reboot.

Cheers for the pointer, i shall see if it works!

why do you want it on??

She doesnt have any other software firewall at the moment, just the router.
