For the nominal cost of $25 postage. Beta 2 Releases can usually be said to still have bugs, but MS seem to be offereing this more as a marketing tool than a "trial" so it may well be near final release stage.

I usually get the software from the UK preview site, but this is the american site.

Not sure about the customs charges etc.

yep that's about right craig .. and a chat buddy in indonesia too paid the same usd 25.. hope we all don't get stuck with anything more once it arrives <_ customs etc>

I dont see how customs would be able to put a charge on it anyway, the product has no retail value.

Just had confirmation that my copy is being shipped.

I think therefore, my weekend will be spent backing up everything on the PC possible and preparing for the worst case scenario!

i got my e mail on Wed, 26 Mar 2003 and that it should come within 10 working days .. that should be this week .. ooh i'm so excited ;)

by the way do you have to have a prev version of office installed before using this .. ?

No - you dont need to have a any previous version - this is the full thing and after speaking to another few people about it it awould appear that this really is the final Beta release and that the full product should be in the shops by the end of the year whcih means this is as near to "bug free" as they will ever get!

May be time limited though :(

I know this is a bit off topic, but I need to add my say. <_>

I have a simple rule regarding M$ products. Don't even think about using them untill they have released the patch to fix service patch 2 !!!!
