Not the usual list of updates etc but this...The Beyond Unreal, Inc. Gaming Network is under the control of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Federal Bureau of Investigation have invoked the PATRIOT act in order to monitor activity on the Beyond Unreal website and forums. During a raid on the home of Peter Kemmerer, President of Beyond Unreal, Inc., FBI agents seized a copy of the Beyond Unreal forums database to analyze communications between members for potential terrorist connections. The FBI is working with Beyond Unreal, Inc. staff to expediate this process, and it is expected that the Beyond Unreal Gaming Network will return to normal in approximately four to six weeks. FBI Agent David King had this to say about the seizure of the Beyond Unreal, Inc. Network and Discussion Boards: "The FBI are doing everything in our power to stop terrorism and bring terrorist groups to justice. The seizure and analysis of data on this internet site is part of our contry's on-going fight against the forces of evil in this world. We are confident that the steps we are taking in cooperation with the owners of this site will help us to locate and track terrorist suspects known to have frequented this site's discussion boards." Monday, April 1st, 2003As detailed in the passage above, the Beyond Unreal, Inc. Gaming Network is now under the control of the FBI. The 'main' page of the network, located at http://www.beyondunreal.com/, which previously served as a news page for fans of the 'Unreal Tournament' video game series, will now provide a medium for internet users to follow the investigation into Beyond Unreal, Inc. under the PATRIOT act. The Beyond Unreal Forums, located at http://forums.beyondunreal.com remain open while the investigation into Beyond Unreal, Inc. is carried out, however the discussion board will be subject to FBI moderation.
