expertec
Do any of the computers have firewalls running?
korgg
Today I discovered a method for Win 98 to see the network...(when everything is configured and worked before, just after a reboot it doesn't)...Just ping the gateway or another computer in your network and then see what happens ... If Win XP sees win 98 and viceversa not working, just disable the firewall on the Win xp ...
spikeychris
If the above fails......Are you actaually logged on? click Start, and look at the Log Off option. If it says Log Off <username>, then you are logged on OK. If it just says Log Off, then you are not logged on.Is there a logon prompt when Windows starts? If so, don't cancel it. Enter a user name and click OK.If not, click Start, Log Off and log back on. If this fixes the problem, then you probably need to do this fix:Start-> Run -> regedit.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Network\RealMode NetDelete the value named "AutoLogon". homecomputeraid
Sarfaraz,Are the Windows 98 machines having difficulty seeing each other and the XP machine, or is it just 98 to XP that's not working?
