It also does alot of other stuff that involves them keeping your emails etc, I dont recall them all because as soon as i read this i moved on. At least, it did when it first came out (that is the reason I did not get an account).This was a rumor, anf a false one at that.When an email is deleted from a gmail account, it's not actually deleted, but marked for deletion. At the end of the day, Google does a batch-delete on all the emails to minimize strain on their servers. All the web-based email accounts do it this way, so I don't understand why Google is catching all this heat about it. But, to repeat, they do not keep your email.
