HELP

:blink: OK...I am totally confused. First of all I do not know what Java is and what it does, and why I would need it. I apparently (from what I can tell) I did not have it before because I downloaded it from Java.com and now I have an icon. But, from what I am reading, I should have downloaded it from Sun.com???? I can't figure out how I have some "virus" when I didn't have that system...unless it is hidden in Microsoft 98 on my computer somewhere.

Please spell this out for me. How do I clear this "virus"? Where and what am I suppose to download??

BTW.....The Java.com version slowed my computer down so much that I can hardly get my computer to start without an error!!

Whoever answers this (if you can and will) probably has their work cut out for them; hence, the reason I wonder if someone will respond. :huh:

Java technology allows certain types of programs, called Java applications or Java applets, to run on Windows-based computers.

It should be in your add & remove programs, so you can uninstall it from there.

Hello lululovesu :) Java should not have slowed down your system to the extent you say. So, maybe you do have something else that is causing the problem.
