Zfactor
I have a problem which I cannot seem to sort out. I have a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card on my computer. For some reason the microphone volume (output) is incredibly low no matter what I do. I have turned the volume to MAX in the sound device volume controls, I have turned on the 20DB boost for the microphone, I have turned the microphone volume controls in all the programs I am using to MAX, yet the microphone volume is so low that the only way I can be heard clearly is by yelling into the Mic.I searched the web and some other people had this same problem, but no answers have come of it.Before you say to install the latest drivers... I cant. I go to SoundBlaster's site and download the drivers that match my card, and then when I go to install them it tells me that I either do not have a SB Audigy 2 or that it is not plugged in correctly (which it is last I checked).I am at wits end about what to do. I need some help if anybody has some! Thanks.
-pops-
Have you tried a different microphone?I had an Audigy setup once. Nothing but problems with it. The only way I could update the drivers for it was to remove the card, delete all references to it that I could find in the computer and re-install all of the software (of which there is a lot). Even then it wouldn't do everything it was supposed to do. I did get it working properly after a format and re-install of the operating system but that is a bit drastic.I would never have another Audigy. I promoted myself to an Extigy system and it's been no problem whatever. I've kept it through several computer changes and it's pretty much perfect. Zfactor
I tried 2 different microphones but they both gave the same result. I really don't want to reformat because I just finished a fresh install a few days ago :o so hopefully it will not have to come to that
Zfactor
So I called Dell today about it, and typical Dell is going to just throw parts at me instead of actually taking the time to figure it out. They claim they are going to replace the MOBO, Sound Card, and cables. The reason I can't install the drivers is because Dell must have a production lic. with Creative: they told me the drivers are totally different and that is why I cant update them. Its always great to find out that you got send hardware for which there can never be an update.Did i ever mention I hate Dell with every fabric of my being? because I do
