HP Virus Throttle 'throttles down' detecting virus

This is more geared toward businesses with large LAN's, but nonetheless interesting...

"Primarily, what Virus Throttle will allow you to do is to mitigate the signatures of the propagation of viruses throughout your environment," Brown said. "And what this allows you to do, independent of a database signature type of virus capability, is to react in a reactionary mode and on a proactive basis once it recognizes a signature based upon the connection types going out."

With a certain timeframe, Virus Throttle will respond and "throttle down" the connection types that are coming out of either the service or the end-point device, Brown said.
