-pops- Posted February 22, 2005 Report Share Posted February 22, 2005 A reinstall on top of a previous version of Windows, either the same variety or a different one, can leave behind residues of the old system which may interfere with your new one and, perhaps worst of all, will leave behind malware, viruses, spyware etc all ready and waiting to install themselves in your new setup making it something of a waste of time.All the installs I have done on top of previous versions have never worked very well.
