EdBoy7713
Hey guys, I really appreciate your time and consideration of my problem. lately, I've been getting these random pop-ups that are in command prompt, probably for processing information. I'm guessing that they're essential to run different things as I open new windows and internet windows, but are probably set to be hidden by default and were accidentally set to be seen. I recently fiddled around with the "@echo on" and "@echo off" batch file commands (sorry guys my usage of these terms probably isnt very good, I admit Im not to experienced with them, and I'm relatively unfamiliar with batch files). I was trying to create a CD with an autorun.inf file that opened a hidden batch file process which opened a program to be automatically opened on insertion of the CD - I believe the command for this is "@echo off" or something of the sort (ive kind of just given up on that im probably very wrong). the problem is that I'm a gamer and these popups which happen about every 30 seconds, not only freeze any typing im doing, like right now, but they minimize my game. deos this have anything to do with these "@echo" commands i've fiddled around with, or is it a virus/spyware/adware of some sort. I know I have some viruses/trojans which ive found with AVG: free edition, and have moved to the "virus vault" to be quarintened but I dont know if their effect could still be potential. how do I fix this? I tried creating another batch file consisting only of "@echo off", but there seems to be no effect. when I type in "@echo" in command prompt, it says "echo is on", and when i type "@echo off" it does nothing, even after I left it there for a few hours.THANKS A TON. I've tried to attach a few "Print Screen" 's of these popups and what they say, but the file was too big (only 600 kb !?) but i'd be happy to email it to you if you requiest it. I really appreciate it, Sean
