Guest chedv
Hi, my ISP has recently moved from a static ip to a dhcp system I think. I live in a rural area and it is wireless internet. From the receiver it comes down an ethernet cable into the ethernet port. I don't have a modem or anything. I first set up my router to the specific ip but now it changes. I tried letting the router connect through dhcp but get this: Login Type: DHCP Internet IP Address: 0.0.0.0 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 0.0.0.0 Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 My router isn't accepting the internet for some reason, any ideas? Thanks alot
scuzzman
Have you tried powercycling the router? If that doesn't do it, hook a computer to the ethernet cable adn see if it pulls an ip.
Guest chedv
No, i haven't tried powercycling yet? If I plug the ethernet cable directly to the computer, the computer accepts it and the internet works. But when I plug it into the linksys it won't register. scuzzman
Here's what I'd do:1: Plug in the ethernet to the router, pull the power plug, wait 60 seconds, plug it back in and test it (powercycle).then2: Reset the router and try it again.then3: Replace the router.
