Windows 98SE compatibility

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I'm currently trying to fix up an old computer that my mum uses, and it is running Windows 98 first edition. I'm just wondering if i'd be able to use SE on it without any compatibility issues, as this edition is much better and easier for me to get ahold of.

It's a pentium 3 450mHz, a good few years old - i will give a more detailed spec if wanted. So does anyone think there'l be any problems with installing SE on it? I'm going to do a format and fresh install of the entire drive.

Thanks for any help.

Noori.

No problems whatever - unless you've only got minimal RAM.

I was running 98SE on a P2 350 with 64MB RAM for some years.

I still have a Celeron 400 + 256MB PC100 SD-RAM + 8MB Graphics card "play" machine which for an experiment I set up to run XP. (It does it "fairly" quickly).
