D4\/!d
Over the past week or so I am repeatedly getting this attack message popping up. It's good to know I am being protected, but it's the same attacker every time. I use Kaspersky, I've run AdAware and Spybot, and use Kerio. And reboot daily.I know I can turn off the popup, but why is the same attacker having a go at me? It is so annoying - it is EVERY DAY! Agent Smith
I doubt very much if the address this attack is coming from, even knows he is dishing out a worm. In most cases, it is invariably a case of somebody who does not know enough about security, and has got themselves infected.According to Kapersky, the Helkern attack you are experiencing, is also known as the Slammer worm ( Link To Kapersky Info ). I suggest that you ensure that all updates are run, and make it as hard as possible to be infected.Next, a quick search returns the details of the offending address. Sam Spade Results for 68.249.104.170 I suggest that you contact the abuse email address for the host ISP (in this case Ameritech), if you are lucky, they will take the issue seriously and try to do something about it.You can also try informing your own ISP to see if they are able to block it before it gets to you.Otherwise, it is just a case of waiting till it stops, and ensuring all your protection is up to date.Good Luck.
