PeteC
Hi there,I have just attempted to set up a wireless home network. I have two machines (a Laptop and a Desktop) both running XP Home Edition. I am currently trying to share folders and have the following problems...On the Desktop I can see both my Desktop and Laptop in a Workgroup that I have named Home, I have access to my Desktop shares but not my Laptop shares via this workgroup. When I try I get " \\Laptop is not accessible, ensure you have permission to access this network resource etc etc. (also) Network Path Not Found " I also cannot ping my Laptop from my Desktop and recieve a Request TimeoutOn the Laptop I can see both my Desktop and Laptop in my workgroup (Home (as above)). I can access both the Desktop and Laptop shares via this workgroup but cannot ping my Desktop from my Laptop and recieve a Request Time Out (as above).I have browsed my ipcofig settings and all seems present and correct. I have also verified that I have NetBios over TCP/IP enabled.Any ideas guys ?Many thanks in advancePete
scuzzman
Are the machines running software firewalls? If so, are teh firewalls configured to reply to an ICMP echo request?
