ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I have used the Google bar for years on IE, and once I installed Firefox, the next thing I installed was the Google bar plug-in. It worked pretty much the same as the original Google bar on IE, and I was very happy with it.Until this week, when it suddenly and drastically changed its behavior. When I start typing something in the search bar, after a few character it lowers a drop-down like thisAfter that I am unable to type anything anymore. Actually it protests with a loud "ping" sound.Any ideas how this got into my Google bar, and how I can restore its original functionality? -pops-
Look in Googlebar options (click on the "G" at left of google bar) (called "Phoogle") under miscellaneous. Have you anything ticked there that might cause this?
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I know I have fiddled with the settings before this behaviour change occurred. I thought I had all set back to the original settings, but it still does the same. It is quite unusable that way.I have uninstalled the plugin, then upgraded to Firefox 1.0.3, then installed the latest version 0.99 of the plugin: it still does the same.Anyone knows where these settings are kept, so I can delete all and reinstall the plugin anew? ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Thanks, Nellie2, that did it (deleting the googlebar references in pref.js). After reinstalling, it behaves now again like a normal Google bar!
