Currently my dad needs to access a particular site which is in a popup, but Norton wont allow it.I have been told by my dads tech support people that all i need to do is add it to a trusted list within Norton, and all will work.Any pointers?Craig. But why don't you ditch the resource hog which is Norton and install some effective and efficient freebies... ie. firewalls such as Zone Alarm/Sygate/Kerio (one only!). If you have the security suite running, excellent alternative AV progs. (one only!) include AVG and Avast and real time antimalware progs. include MS Antispyware and SpywareGuard (run together if you want to... I do). With back up from SpywareBlaster and ad-hoc scanning with Spybot S & D, Ad-Aware and a-squared you will be well protected...and all for free. Set up a good Hosts File, install PrevX and PeerGuardian and check out your internet connection in terms of stealth and security. I think that you will be pretty damned pleased...I am! Oh, and install Firefox as your default browser. Then check out you p.c. on an on-line security scanner and feel good! No, you're never completely safe, but the above strategy moves you in the correct direction. If you need any links to the above, please post back. If you follow this link to The Virus bulletin, you will see how bad the freebies that you mention come out. Most of us on here run all the freebie anti Trojan and anti Spyware programs. As for Firefox, I downloaded it yesterday and did not like it, and subsequently uninstalled it. I could not believe the crap that it left behind, and it all took a lot of clearing.
