It isn't you that's infected, it's your search query being similar/identical to ones that actually are sent by infected computers like the page says. Google blocks these queries while the spyware that creates them is spreading heavily.

Maybe someone (again) launched a DDoS attack on Google, so they put up a defense mechanism, where you had to identify yourelf as a human (by typing the chracters from a picture).

Yeah that sounds good, i have come across that typing thing on other sites but can`t remember which ones.

Google has a limit of 1000 searches per day per IP... It is possible somehow to have reached that limit and google starts behavind a little odd :) ..

For example: my ISP is using NAT to a single public IP and therefore the 10 or 20 people that are going through that IP might do some extensive google queries in one day ... And so there is a problem...

I am with telefonica , probably the biggest IP in Spain, 1000 searches a day for most of Spain would be a joke, sometimes i do 20 or 30 a day myself :D

I have been googling since they started and this is the first problem, but when i typed in the codeword it was ok again straight away.

It sounds more like pwillener got it. ;)
