Shirley Crabtree
OK Here's the lowdown...I reformatted both of my PCs the other day, reinstalled XP on both and established a network connection...Both PCs had full access to the 'net.Yesterday, due to boredom,I installed Zone Alarm firewall on this PC...and...blam...It blocked the other PC :(....No matter what I tried I couldn't sort it out so I just uninstalled the silly thing....(Think I'll leave firewalls for the geeks :P )Ever since then I can't access Msn messenger on the other PC...Also Msn web messenger and Ebay  Most web pages are fine though...just certain things seem to be "blocked"Does anyone have any idea where to start?? Is it a fault on the other Pc or a remnant of ZA on this one.The error on the other PC,when trying to login to msn,is along the lines of "there not being a connection or there is a firewall"When login fails there is an option,on msn,to check the connection and that reports that all is well...Need help please...My cousin (whose PC it is) is doing my head in because he wants to get back on Msn to chat-up some laydeez :D Cheers.Shirl. Scarecrow Man
Is one PC sharing it's internet connection, or are you using a router? If it's shared, the secondary PC would probably not trigger Zone Alarm, with a request to unblock and therefore not allow the program to run. Basic functions like browsing websites would still work, but things like MSN or even e-mail would probably not work.I'm sure Zone Alarm can be configured for this. You may also want to try Sygate. madboy33
I assume you turned off XP's Firewall before using ZA?
