persianpower Posted April 29, 2005 Report Share Posted April 29, 2005 ya i bought this laptop for a good price900CDNeverything is perfect EXPECT every 20 minutes or so (and i mean every 20 minutes) the machine makes a 10 second noise.the noise gets as loud as a fridge. i know it's the fan. the laptop has 3 heat vents.my question is, i really like this laptop and dont want to return it just because of the excessive periodical fan noise.is there anything i can do ?software?hardware tweak?anything?im open to all optionsthanks for helping Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Scarecrow Man Posted April 29, 2005 Report Share Posted April 29, 2005 Most laptops have vents on the bottom. When you use it on your lap, or desk, these vents are partially closed causing more heat. This noise you hear is probably the side fans venting out any heat that is stuck inside the case. I wouldnt worry about it.
