Is this true.I've recently bought a new laptop and it works pERFECT. Yet, I'm missing the below updates. Should i download and install these updates?Is there a problem with specific updates for speficic operating systems.On my last computer, i downloaded and installed all the critical updates and some of the moderate ones too. I have heard of people getting into troubles when installing certain updates on malware-infected systems.Make sure your system is free of malware.Take a complete system backup before installing the updates. This way you can always go back if you encounter any negative effects from the updates.Install all updates.Defragment after you reboot. andsome Posted May 5, 2005 Report Share Posted May 5, 2005 I have never had any problem with any update, just a minor irritation with one. This caused the computer to stop booting up part way through, and to display a log on screen, and I had to click on my name to finish booting up. Kirk Posted May 5, 2005 Report Share Posted May 5, 2005 well me and another guy Hawk from over at the pit, both had problems with one particular ie update a while back. messed both of us up. we had to remove it and hide it on windows update to keep from getting it again. other than that major foulup of our systems, other updates have occasionally fooled around with the system a bit but nothing like that one did.
