Dial-up network problem

Hi, folks!

Suppose this situation: I have two networks, A=10.0.0.0 and B=20.0.0.0

I configured a dial-up connection on a Windows 2000 Server at network A, IP address 10.0.0.1, to answer when I dial from my Windows 98 client at network B, IP address 20.0.0.1

I used the option "default gateway on remote network", and when the connection is established, I can ping any host at network A from Win98 client, but I can't do the same from Win2K server to ping hosts at network B.

What should I do to make it happen (something like a bidirectional dial-up connection)?

Good evening Reginald0, I do not believe that it is a straight forward process to do what you wish (but someone may prove me wrong!).

I think that perhaps the best and most secure way would be to set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

Here are some links you may find useful

VPN Labs

VPN How To

Some more info and Downloads

I hope these give you a good start, but if not post back and I shall see if I can find any more information for you.

Regards. Mr. Mouse.
