seasider28 Posted May 9, 2005 Report Share Posted May 9, 2005 I bought an AMD Sempron 2200 to fit into my ASRock K7S8X board but it's manual was obviously published before the Sempron became available. However, the manual states that I don't need to set any multiplier jumpers as the system will work well without any adjustment. On boot, my processor is described as an AMD 1200 (133MHz x 9); is this likely to be correct? This is basically underclocking your processor, and, while I don't think it should hinder performance, it almost seems as if it must... seasider28 Posted May 9, 2005 Author Report Share Posted May 9, 2005 No. Within the BIOS all I can set is CPU frequency to be by jumper (recommended) or manual. I have it set by jumper and have set the jumpers to 266MHz although the BIOS shows the actual frequency as 133MHz.
