Motherboard jumper settings

Recommended Posts

I bought an AMD Sempron 2200 to fit into my ASRock K7S8X board but it's manual was obviously published before the Sempron became available. However, the manual states that I don't need to set any multiplier jumpers as the system will work well without any adjustment. On boot, my processor is described as an AMD 1200 (133MHz x 9); is this likely to be correct? If incorrect, is this likely to restrict my processor's performance?

MTIA,

Peter

No. Within the BIOS all I can set is CPU frequency to be by jumper (recommended) or manual. I have it set by jumper and have set the jumpers to 266MHz although the BIOS shows the actual frequency as 133MHz. I haven't set any multiplier jumpers on the board as it will, supposedly, work it out by itself.
