I'm assuming it is based on the writeup. I've turned off Windows XP, SP2 Firewall. System seems to run a little faster. homecomputeraid Posted May 11, 2005 Report Share Posted May 11, 2005 I don't know the direct answer to your question, but if Windows XP has detected any of the firewall programs I've installed (dedicated firewall software), it has automatically shut down Windows firewall and used the software firewall.
