StMichael
I noticed something funny with my 128MB BenQ USB Drive that only occurred yesterday when I tried to copy files from my company's computer into it.It gave me this notice when I tried to copy the file into the root directory.Title: Error Copying File or FolderDescription: Cannot Copy Envisioning: The Directory of File cannot be created.Note: Envisioning is the name of the file I was trying to copy.I tried copying the file into a subdirectory and it works! When I tried copying the file from the subdirectory back to the root...the same message pops up. I tried creating a new folder - a similar message pops up!Help! Scarecrow Man
Backup all data from the disk, format it and try again.
StMichael
It works. I can now create new folders from it, but have yet to try to transfer files from my office's computer (will do that on Monday). But I'm curious - what happened? Scarecrow Man
Data corruption? Can't be to sure what caused it, but a format always removes any flaws in the file system.Always use the 'Safely remove hardware' icon on your task bar before removing a removable drive.
