movie files not labeld as a .wmv or things similar to the format don't have details displayable. why cant windows read the info? in the properties window its labeled as "Summary properties are not available for the selected source(s)." i really want to be able to preview the dimensions, bit rate, and the duration!

example:

an mp3 file uses an IDv1 or IDv2 tag. This is information embedded into the mp3 so players are able to recognize the name and artist etc, of the track.

wmv does the same thing.

Some file types do not have such features as they be an older technology, or based on an old format. Adding new features would require an upgrade to every technology that is able to play those files to incorporate the new feature.

AVI is an older standard, and wmv is fairly new (as well as MP3)

I don't have any hard proof of this, but I cant find any other explanation.
