Multiple Boot Failed....

Recommended Posts

Hi Experts,

I was running XP Pro SP2 and I bought a new HD and I wanted to install Win2000 Server on the new HD. So, I used the Win2000 CD to do the setup, however, the setup didn't prompt me about multiple boot and install the Win2000 in the new driver right away. Well, I installed the Win200 anyway and after the installation, when I restart the machine, the multiple boot menu shown up! But when I select XP Pro to start, the machine tends to boot with Win2000 and gave me this message and hung up:

"Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:

\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMd startup options for Windows 2000, press F8.

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows 2000

Setup using the original Setup floppy disk or CD-ROM.

Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."

I don't want to reinstall either XP or Win2000.....

What should I do now to get XP back running??

THANKS!!!!
