scuzzman Posted May 26, 2005 Report Share Posted May 26, 2005 I'm still running a 32-bit proc :(But rest assured -- 64-bit kernels have been around well before Windows brought their "64-bit" OS and are very well tested. I've heard a lot of great reviews, specifically about SuSE 64-bit (and the occasional whining lamer - but you'll have that) so I'd say have a go at it!Here is a 64-bit 9.2/9.3 review on an AMD-64 notebook that might be interesting. Redhat Posted May 26, 2005 Report Share Posted May 26, 2005 I've tried Mandriva 64, Ubuntu 64, SuSE 64 and Gentoo 64, on neither did I see anything that wowed me. Wouldn't say it was worth the jump at this point, to be honest! And if you have an ATI graphics card, last I heard, just forget getting 64bit!
