oscar Posted May 31, 2005 Report Share Posted May 31, 2005 Hi,I have a pc with win xp sp2 prof. The harddisk is formatted as ntfs. I have a user wich is a standard user so no administrator rights. I have a dir. wich i have set that this user has no write permissions. This works, if the user browses to this dir. and tries to delete a file windows gives a messages that this cannot be done. Great. But when the user launches the program wich resides in this dir, then the user can delete messages within this prog. Btw. the program is ispq. Does anyone have an idea what to do with it so messages cannot be deleted? I have also tried to inbox and outbox dir's with the same settings but it doesnt work also. Scarecrow Man Posted May 31, 2005 Report Share Posted May 31, 2005 You want the user to be able to use the folder (read) but not delete from it (write)Your only option is to disable write permissions.
