Hi,

I have a problem with my computer, which has brought me to the brink of despair. No one seems to have a clue what’s wrong. Is there someone out there who can help?

My computer is windows XP

Heres a description of the problem:

-For some reason I can't right-click on the Internet, meaning I can't do things such as copy&paste (however I can do this via edit-copy)

-I can't download anything from the Internet

-I can't save anything from the internet (like a picture) - when i do this a window appears with a cross with no writing - it seems as though there should be writing saying what is wrong.)

-My newest problem is that the computer shuts down on its own, and I cannot open my cd-rewriter.

At one point I used to have a lot of adware/spyware on my computer, but now its all gone via lots of hardwork. So now Norton can't even detect anything.

However, on add/remove programs there are the following things which I have concern with. (I’ve written what happens if I try to remove them):

-'DMVlite' - The same thing comes up as when I try to save something on the internet.

-'ISScript' - It says preparing to remove, then it says - 'the feature you're trying to use is on a network resource which is unavailable.' The name of this window is windows installer.

-'Search Assistant - my search' - The small picture for this is the same one as spybot. When i click remove it says, 'error loading c:\progra~1\myway\srchastt\1.bin\mysrchas.dll' The box has the cross thing. The name of that window is RUNDLL

There are then other things I’m concerned of like:

- There's something called 'viewpoint media player' and 'windows media player 9 hotfix.' Both of these have the picture of windows media player (4 different colours which go round the circle with a play button in the middle)

- I then have 32 'windows xp hotpix' !

So... After that short explanation, can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

Thanks, but i've already downloaded hijackthis and all that comes up is -

BHO (no name) - {026E1291-167A-4B13.........} - no file

And then another BHO file.

Even if i hadn't got hijackthis, i wouldn't be able to downlaod it anyway.

Thanks anyway

Thanks i've sent my log.

I have another question, when i run norton antivirus it says it detects something and says it can be found in - c:\windows\downloaded program files. However, when i open it there is nothing in there what so ever.

Does know why this might be?

Thanks

Hi,

I've come across another problem - AGAIN!

Both CD drive D + CD drive E have a problem.

Cd drive D won't open + Cd drive E won't do anythiing when i put a disk in.

When i double-click on CD drive D the following comes up - "Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows." Also, when i right click, properties, it says the following:

Used speace - 0 bytes 0 bytes

Free space - 0 bytes 0 bytes

Capacity - 0 bytes 0 bytes

Then the round thing is completely dark blue, which is the same colour which indicates used space!

Also, i search for active x like it says on the forum and it says -

Activexcontrol.class

Activexcontrollistener.class

Activexcontrolservices.class

I tried deleting these but it said - "cannot delete file: cannot read from the source file or disk."

Is this good or bad - should i delete it?

ALSO, i was wondering if anyone knew why it won't let me right-click on the internet, download stuff from the internet and save stuff from the internet.

Thanks

Hi,

No, it won't let me rightclick on this site.

When i type sfc something comes up but goes away so quickly i only see a quick black flash from that window. When i put scannow in it says it can't find it. I tried them together as well with a / in between in case thats what you meant but it couldn't find that either.

Thanks,

Floydy
