humbletech99
Hi, I've got a problem at home and at work where I can't seem to burn CDs properly, it nearly always fails with the message "Cannot complete CD Burning Wizard" if using the in-built burning, or "Could not perform fixation" when using Nero. The disks being used are varied (TDK at work and Telstar at home). THe work computers are brand new IBMs, the home is a custom built with ASUS CD-RW drive. All using Windows XP. The IMAPI service is started (I've got it on automatic as well so its always up first) but this problem never seems to go away no matter what I try. It must be an XP thing. Any ideas?
dadyassa
Its usually caused by incompatible disc's or a dying writer, try some different disc's as they are new PCs.Try burning at a slower speed.Have you updated Nero ?
Scarecrow Man
You could try http://www.cdburnerxp.se/ or check to see if DMA is enabled.Open Device Manager, under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, check each channel for DMA. If you are experiencing errors, try PIO mode.
