AIPTEX Hyper Pen 6000

Recommended Posts

This is not a problem (as yet). I have just been given one of these fine objects (that has (allegedly) only been used a couple of times) but before I "plug it in" I thought it best to enquire if anyone here has any experience of these things. It has a cordless mouse as part of the set up and I did not want to louse up anything just fiddling about.

As usual, with many things of oriental origin, the "manual" is a mixture of fractured English and wrongly labelled illustrations, but it is workoutable. It also has a couple of installation CDs and it claims to be compatible with XP,2000,98 and 95, and so it must not be too old.

edit:- spelling

My daughter had/has one.

The "cordless mouse" always flickered and can only be used on the tablet.

The Pen itself is OK - it just depends how patient you are in using it ! (I am not that patient !)

If you like drawing - its OK - Art Dabbler software was included ?

Ours was from Serif - only cost about £10 - so not bad value if a tablet is what you want. Just not my personal need/requirement.

Daughter needed it for some GCSE design work (a couple of years back). It seemed to do what she wanted.

if a tablet is what you want

I'm not sure. You never are when something is just dropped on you. I had wondered if it would make tittivating up photographs easier (I think those in the know call it "touching up", but if I use that expession I may get drummed out of the brownies). Sometimes Adobe Photoshop or PSP can be a bit fraught, using a mouse at high definition. I also wondered about it in connection with sketching out basic engineering drawings. Most of the CAD progs. are far too elaborate for the sort of thing I get involved in.
