seanmhome
I had windows xp pro and fedora core 3 dual booting, but I wanted to remove fedora and dualboot server 2003 and xp. I removed fedora through the server install cd, but I didn't install server. Now my computer can't boot to xp. It says "boot failure" or something like that. I used grub to dualboot when I had fedora, and it was installed to the boot partition. My computer doesn't have a floppy drive so I can't make a boot disk. What should I do?Please help! Scarecrow Man
Recovery Console is asking you for your Windows Installation. Where is it installed? It looks like H:, but I am not sure what the other two entries are.You will need to enter recovery console and type "fixboot" and "fixmbr" without quotations. If you can, edit the boot.ini file on the root of your windows drive. It should read something like this:[boot loader]timeout=30default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT[operating systems]multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetectnot exactly, but similar.
