savak
Strange one this.I upgraded(?) from W2K to XP and had a error during the upgrade that I resolved but under XP the main user (Administrator) does appear at the login screen but the profile is in the Documents & Settings folder. There are also other users with their own profiles and one of them disappeared a well from the login screen. Fortunately I had another administration profile that works.Questions1. How can I reinstate the 'lost' profiles?2. Can a 'lost' profile be imported into a new user setup?Any help is welcome.Graeme
expertec
TweakUI allows you to choose which user profiles are (or are not) displayed at the logon screen. :)Also, from the user logon screen, if you hold down Ctr+Alt and press Del twice, you should get the old style logon box. savak
Having played around lately I've gone back to the old style logon (because the wife doesn't like the XP logon!) I can now get back to my old Administrator user profile and all is well. But I still cannot figure out how the 'normal' XP logon doesn't off the Administrator profile. If I try to create it I'm informed it exsists! This has been a bit of a pain is it possible to go back to W2K (uninstall the upgrade to XP) or should I start again by backing up and reformatting with XP?Any advice/views welcome.Graeme
