Scarecrow Man
Windows does not require passwords for LAN. It assumes the password you used (or did not have to use) at login, verifies your identity. Therefore, you cannot ask for a password to access a LAN. You would require a 3rd party app to do this. How To Set Up a File System for Secure Access in Windows 2000EDIT:I think I found a 3rd party app that does what you need.SafeGuard PrivateCrypto* - http://www.utimaco.com/createframes.html?h...ucts/sg_pc.html Implements the state-of-the-art encryption algorithm AES ”Secure wipe“ function Optional encryption of entire directory trees Secure password logging Protects against “brute force” attacks by increasing response times each time the user enters the wrong password Keys are generated from the password entered by the user Option to generate self-extracting files Data compression*Freeware for private users.
