hasslerus Posted July 8, 2005 Report Share Posted July 8, 2005 Hi there,I recently had a virus on my computer called Trojan Spy H.T.M.L. Smitfraud C. with the infected file being called 'OLEADM.DLL'. I tried to use my McAfee to remove it however it had no effect whatsoever. After trying many other things I was advised to run 'XoftSpy' which immediately removed all visable traces of the virus from my computer. However, my McAfee Virus Scan keeps flashing up that it has found this virus on my computer. I'm thinking that there must be some sort of problem with it as I'm pretty sure the virus has gone. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can remove this alert as it keeps flashing up when I'm trying to do things or do you think the virus is still on my computer?,Thankyou,Keith. Boris Posted July 8, 2005 Report Share Posted July 8, 2005 Please download the latest version of HiJackThis from :-http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zipCreate a new folder under C:\ e.g. C:\HJT, unzip HJT to it run a scan please and post it in our Spyware removal /HJT board.Then please wait for one of our experts to sort you out. No one is more careful than me, but after a very minor problem recently a couple of nasties were found on my computer. Go for it, everyone of our experts is excellent.
