GreenBird
ok this might help out you professors, i went into the cmd and did an ip display and it says the win proxy isn't enabled and neither is the ip routing so i don't kno what to do about that. but all this is colateral damage from that accursed zone alarm firewall
micken
Looks like you need to have a close look in the settings of Zone Alarm since it needs to be properly configured for BB communication. I don't use it myself but others here do and they may be able to help when they come online later.Good luck, I know how frustrating things like this can be. micken
You should use a good firewall package, particularly important on W2K that has no protection of it's own (Windows XP has it's own basic firewall). It's also important on an 'always on' broadband connection.Search for advice about free firewall and anti virus packages. Zone Alarm is a well respected application and if you still have it available it could be well worth giving it a try again. If you are able to provide specific details about your problems I'm sure that folks on these pages will get you up and running. GreenBird
thats just the thing i can't give any details cause it just quit and i tested connections, devices and searched for virii but nothing, like i said i ran an ipconfig in the cmd and it said that the proxy and ip routing were disabled and that didn't sound right but i have no idea to fix it. but i must head to bed, thanks
